Our History

Pete Smith Automotive Group got it’s start in 1947 when the first shop, Pete Smith Garage, opened its doors in rural Louisburg, North Carolina. It was a small one bay garage using only a chain thrown over an old oak tree to hoist cars up for service.

Today, Pete Smith Automotive Group consists of 7 automotive repair stores serving Franklin, Vance, Wake and Warren County. Our original one bay Garage is still around but has grown with us and is now a 10 bay full service garage with the ability to hoist even a bus up for repairs. We have strive to set ourselves apart from others in the auto repair industry from the very beginning, offering our customers clean waiting areas, friendly staff to interact with and a trust that when you leave your vehicle in our hands we will take care of it in the best way possible.

Our family business has been built on this foundation of honesty from the start and we take pride in knowing our loyal customers trust us with one of their most important investments. We strive to keep up with the always-changing auto industry by having the latest equipment and know how so we can give you the best automotive repair experience you will ever have!
